ValuMix Assays for Gene Expression and qPCR
For qPCR applications such as gene expression analysis, a ValuMix Assay contains one BHQ® probe mixed with two standard PCR primers. Probe to primer ratios can range anywhere from 1:1 to 1:4.5 according to your preference. With delivered amounts of probe starting from 0.5 nmol, ValuMix Assays for gene expression is ideal for high-throughput, nanoliter thermal cyclers such as with digital or array-based qPCR. Fluorophore options include FAM, CAL Fluor® Orange 560, CAL Fluor Red 610 or Quasar® 670 dyes. Please refer to our dye selection chart for more information.
ValuMix Assays for SNP Genotyping
If your work requires probe-based SNP genotyping, we can provide two BHQplus® Probes and primers mixed into a single tube. BHQplus Probes incorporate a duplex-stabilising chemistry that permits the design of shorter oligonucleotide probes while maintaining the elevated melting temperature (Tm) that is optimal for real-time PCR. These probes are formulated for improved specificity, stronger hybridization, and a smaller binding footprint, making them ideal for the analysis of single nucleotide polymorphisms or species discrimination.
