Our scientists and product specialists work in close collaboration with a diverse range of customers to find solutions that meet their precise needs. Our approach involves people across several teams to ensure that we are optimally positioned to understand the issues, devise solutions and make them readily available.
Having a broad portfolio of products and services that meet customers’ needs relies on the keen knowledge of our product managers. “The nucleic acid chemistry product management team’s role is to ensure the portfolio is equipped with all the products that our customers need and be able to scale to their requirements so that they’re able to concentrate on their oligo synthesis,” says Shireen Ahmed, Nucleic Acid Chemistry Product Manager.
“We do this by constantly keeping up with what’s going on, bringing in new products when needed, but also making sure that we’re able to scale as needed as well.”
At LGC Biosearch Technologies™, we appreciate the importance of a dependable supplier offering a complete package that meets customers’ needs, now and in the future. “We’re really paying attention to all aspects of genotyping, and not just one or two areas that we’re particularly good at. We’re looking at the long-term picture here,” says Austin Sheppe, Genomics Technical Sales Specialist.
Finding custom solutions through collaboration
Biosearch Technologies’ scientists work hand in hand with customers to uncover solutions to the unique challenges they are facing. “Part of my job is to work with the customer to understand exactly what their needs are and how we can address those with the products and offerings that we have,” says Oliver Watts, Enzymes Technical Sales Executive.
“After fully understanding the goals of the customer, we apply our internal resources and knowledge to solve their problems and provide them with a solution that meets their needs as well as we possibly can.”
In some cases, customers need custom solutions specially designed to tackle their problems. This is where people like Lindy McClelland, Senior Scientist, work closely to find an innovative solution. “There are many out-of-the-box products, and many customers can use those happily for out-of-the-box solutions,” she says. “But sometimes, customers have unique challenges, and we need to work together to understand what that challenge is and then create the solution together.”
Getting to grips with customers’ issues is a vital step in the process that can involve a lot of detective work. “A lot of times it’s like a puzzle, and every puzzle looks different – sometimes you have the corner pieces already set up, sometimes you have to start from the middle,” says Austin.
“We try to ask the right questions and really listen to what our customer has to say,” he adds. “Sometimes seeing what they’re talking about in person really helps to understand these issues firsthand.”
With deep in-house expertise and a zest for problem-solving, LGC Biosearch Technologies can examine a range of possible options that could work for a customer’s problems.
“The cool thing about LGC is we have so many different tools available to do that. My job is to make sure I understand all the pros and cons and identify what’s going to be the most effective solution,” says Austin. “I think it’s really fun when you find a solution for them that saves them money, and at the end, everybody’s happy.”
